A route sign at the end of the path through Hallglen, pointing across the main road to the paths at #101176. The road crossing is terrible and desperately needs upgrading. Due to the terrain, a footbridge may even be an easy enough solution ... [more]
A route sign at one corner of a triangular path junction. The route to Callendar Woods continues across the main road to the left at #101177, at the foot of the steps up to the houses. However, there is no sign for the HArTT cycle route, as ... [more]
Looking inside the Union Canal's Falkirk Tunnel. A sign back at #101156 advises dismounting. I wouldn't disagree. This end of the tunnel is quite wet, so can be slippery.
A route sign on the Union Canal, with four directions indicated: Union Canal eastbound (via Falkirk Tunnel) Union Canal westbound (Falkirk Wheel) Falkirk High station Dirt path to Slamannan Road (part of the HArTT cycle route, #103474) ... [more]

On the left a new ramp up to a car park (see #101153), and on the right the path connecting to the Union Canal.
A new ramp up to a new car park and cycle parking (see #101148), linked to Falkirk High station. The gap in the railing halfway up is for a dirt path leading to Slamannan Road.
A steep ramp down to the passageway under the railway and linking to Drossie Road and the opposite side of Falkirk High station. The path to the right leads to the nearside platform. There appears to be more than enough room behind the c ... [more]
The passageway under the railway linking Drossie Road to the Union Canal (part of the John Muir Way), plus some cycle parking stands in a car park.
Some of the cycle parking at Falkirk High station. There are also some Sheffield stands off to the right.
A single 'Bike & Go' bike available for hire at Falkirk High station. An easy 2 mile ride from the Falkirk Wheel visitor attraction.
New cycle parking in a new car park for Falkirk High station. But 'Cyclists Dismount' on the ramp down to the Union Canal. See also #101153.
A "Cyclists Dismount" sign for a flight of steps. It may be better to direct cyclists via the road crossing (see #101513).
Signs for various destinations. The blue sign with tiny writing is for the HArTT cycle route. Perhaps the broken bits beneath the other signs are the remains for the HArTT sign for the other direction.
Direction signs at the access from Bracken Avenue, but why this obsession with "End of Cycle Route" signs in this town? The path doesn't end until it reaches the road in any case. Also, the signs on one side are lit, and those on the side a ... [more]
The sign invites left turns from the Lionthorn Road shared-use footway onto the path to Slamannan Road, but the barriers makes them rather awkward with a bike.
This appears to be a new path over to the Union Canal access ramp at #101130, but has old school barriers making cycle access difficult.
A junction between shared-use paths, but there appears to be no expectation of users from this direction wanting to turn right, with no shortcut path on the desire line.
A shared-use footway on Lionthorn Road, but I initially missed its existence back at the roundabout so had to bump the kerb and grass to get onto it.
A barrier guarding the steep access ramp down to the Union Canal towpath (see #101129) but rather awkward to get even a standard bike through.
A steep access ramp to the Union Canal towpath, although there's not much that could be done to reduce the gradient without a big budget.

Path alongside section of the Forth & Clyde Canal between The Kelpies and where the canal now exits into the River Carron. This path leads to NCN76, is lit with LED catseyes, and is seen passing beneath the M9 motorway.
The Kelpies next to the Forth & Clyde Canal, where there was a huge queue of drivers waiting for spaces in the car park.
Lots of cycle stands at the Falkirk Wheel Visitors' Centre, but they are spaced far too closely together, making access needlessly difficult. Plenty of room for a more sensible spacing without loss of stands.

A useful though badly maintained cycle track beside a busy main road BUT Why did they stick a third pole for this sign in the middle of the cycle track? It may have changed now as this is a ten year old photo but it shows what we are up aga ... [more]

A good and a bad National Cycle Network direction sign on NCN76. Kinda useless to sign in both directions but not say where it'll take you.
